Margaret Malicki
an Albany based consultant
A Strategic Partner.
For more than 30 years, Margaret Malicki has served regional nonprofits in their efforts to build strategic plans, engage the community, and meet funding goals. Her commitment has helped organizations maximize opportunities to better serve their constituencies and strengthen their surrounding communities.
How nonprofits raise money varies for the wide range of needs being met by organizations big and small. World events, national politics, and local happenings influence staff, boards, and volunteers in how they interact with donors to encourage their support. What worked last year, may not work next year. One thing is certain, fund raising is about developing relationships between your mission and your potential audience.
Margaret has served as the philanthropic counsel on 25 capital and endowment campaigns raising more than $122 million to date. Campaigns have ranged from working with organizations with limited staff and a goal of $500,000 to a full development team striving to reach a $10 million goal.
Additionally, Margaret has strengthened major gift programs and annual campaigns, worked with boards to bolster their roles in development, built strategic plans that get results, and conducted assessments of development efforts.
Prior to beginning as a consultant in 2000, Margaret worked with Siena College and Holy Cross Family Ministries, an international organization now located in MA. Margaret received her bachelor’s degree from Siena College and also earned a master’s degree from the University of Albany.
Margaret values the role of a volunteer and being involved. As a volunteer she has done everything from dialing phones, to painting rooms, to serving on soup kitchen lines. Her formal volunteer roles have included:
-
15-Love, board member, development committee
-
Changing the Conversation, EVICTED, committee member
-

-
